Coaching Principles

Mario brings these principles to every coaching engagement:

  • Start with the coachee to understand his/her situation, motivation, needs and wants.
  • Understand the context and look at personal and professional situations when assessing, planning and tracking behavior changes.
  • Use a learning-approach to increase client awareness and create “safe experiments” that motivate action.
  • End sessions with accountabilities to ensure movement and change.
  • Encourage collaboration to maintain momentum, measure progress and integrate individual changes with the current system.

Coaching Process

Mario’s coaching process focuses on:

  • Setting goals
  • Raising awareness around current behaviors, desired behaviors, obstacles, opportunities and definitions of success.
  • Expanding what is possible for actions and behaviors.
  • Helping to choose an approach as a  “safe experiment.”
  • Debriefing actions-taken to identify what works and what can be changed.
